To strengthen the Protective Group's Finance & Administration team in Best (The Netherlands), V.A.C. has an exciting position available for an experienced, talented and ambitious (M/F) :



Assistant Controller

Function

You will report directly to the Controller Paper & Plastics Europe and you will engage in all kinds of financial and fiscal tasks, including local and corporate accounting, financial reporting and the development of internal control policies and procedures. Your responsibilities include :
• Managing all accounting operations, including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, bank and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition. • Preparation and timely publication of monthly financial statements. • Coordinating the preparation of regulatory reporting. • Researching technical accounting issues for compliance. • Supporting month- & year-end closing processes. • Ensuring quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting. • Managing compliance with local, state and governmental reporting requirements and tax filing.
• Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Additional duties and ad hoc projects as required.

You will gradually take on more Finance & Administration responsibilities from the Controller and in due course become member of the local management team.

Profile

• For this position we are looking for candidates with a higher degree in Finance/Accounting and a relevant experience as Financial Controller or Accountant, preferably in a production environment. • You have a thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures. • You are experienced in creating financial statements, in general ledger functions and in the month/year-end closing processes. • You have excellent administrative, organisational and communication skills.
• You have the ability to prioritize your own workload and to take initiative. • You have strong interpersonal skills and you have the ambition to grow into a more responsible and leading role. • You are an advanced user of Excel and accounting software. • You have experience with working in an ERP environment with knowledge of Exact Globe Next or similar as a plus. • You are fluent in Dutch and English.
