Global Director of Diamond Manufacturing

In this strategic leadership role, reporting directly to the group’s Board of Directors, you will take full end-responsibility for the performance, modernization and alignment of all diamond polishing facilities. Acting as a key interface between operations and executive leadership, your mission is to elevate manufacturing standards, drive operational excellence and ensure consistent delivery across all sites. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the manufacturing footprint by strengthening processes, upgrading technology and building high-performing local teams.
Your Key Responsibilities include :
• Lead and optimize the overall performance of multiple diamond manufacturing sites, ensuring consistent achievement of targets related to output, quality, efficiency, cost control and delivery reliability.
• Define and implement a modernization roadmap, including the introduction of advanced technologies, machines, automation and best-in-class manufacturing practices.
• Harmonize processes, KPIs and reporting structures across all locations to ensure transparency, comparability and performance control.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all departments like cutting, polishing, planning and quality control, fostering a culture of accountability and operational excellence.
• Lead, coach and develop results driven local management teams, strengthening leadership capabilities and building robust succession pipelines.
• Act as a strategic bridge between operations and executive stakeholders, aligning manufacturing capabilities with commercial and product requirements.

• Proven senior leadership experience in diamond manufacturing or diamond technology operations, with deep understanding of polishing, planning, quality control and factory workflows; experience with smaller-size diamonds (below 0.20 ct) is considered a strong asset.
• Experience in multi-site or large-scale international manufacturing environments.
• Strong track record in technology upgrades, process optimization and operational transformation.
• Proven ownership of operational performance, with the ability to consistently achieve targets related to output, quality, efficiency and cost control.
• Demonstrated ability to lead large, multicultural teams through local management structures.
• Previous expatriate experience, ideally in (South-East) Asia, with strong cultural awareness and adaptability.
• Proven capability in diagnosing areas for improvement and implementing new machines, technologies, processes and performance frameworks.
• Ability to operate effectively within Western business environments, aligning with European management styles, governance and decision-making processes.
• Strategic, analytical and hands-on mindset, combined with strong communication skills in English.
• Willing and able to live and work as an expatriate (single or with family) in South-East Asia with frequent international travel.Aanbod
