Finance Director
Shared Services manager & Business Controller
Alfa Laval is a leading global provider of specialised products and engineering solutions based on its key technologies of heat transfer, separation and fluid handling.
The company’s equipment, systems and services are dedicated to assisting customers in optimising the performance of their processes. The solutions help them to heat, cool, separate and transport products in industries that produce food and beverages, chemicals and petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, starch, sugar and ethanol. Alfa Laval’s products are also used in power plants, aboard ships, for oil and gas exploration, in the mechanical engineering industry, in the mining industry and for wastewater treatment, as well as for comfort climate and refrigeration applications.
In the Benelux market, all sales and service activities are being initiated and orchestrated by the Alfa Laval Benelux organisation located in Breda (NL). Due to an internal promotion, we are currently looking for a competent and business oriented Finance Director to join our Benelux management team in Breda.
Function
In this key position it is your mission to create and execute a clear strategy for all business supporting processes and systems. You ensure the realisation of shared services’ goals and in doing so you contribute to an optimal performance of the Alfa Laval Benelux company. You take part in the management team and you support your peers and higher management in decision making and in stipulating strategic directions by giving unsollicited advise and securing risk mitigation. You provide leadership to your shared services team and garantuee an overall view of all activities related to accounting & reporting, site facilities, IT and fiscal & legal matters. Furthermore, you secure compliance and you align local business approach with group corporate principles.
Your specific responsabilities are :
Managing the shared services department: you monitor activities related to site facilities, IT, accounting & reporting, controlling and legal. You coach and develop a team of 10 staff members.
Managing finance, statutory, fiscal and legal matters: you compile and check fiscal and legal documents. You build relations with tax authorities, auditors, advisors and banks.
Reporting & planning: you compile reporting. You organise the forecast and budgeting process. You analyse results. You translate data into meaningful & supporting information.
Controlling : you monitor, test and develop internal procedures. You are a sparring partner for all organisational levels.
Profile
You have a bachelor’s or a master’s degree, preferably with a business-economic focus.
You can rely on several years of experience in a similar position in a corporate environment.
You have proven people management skills. You can provide direction and you are able to motivate others.
You understand the power of team play.
You show integrity, clear judgement and strong analytical & problem-solving skills.
You are result-driven, innovative and customer-oriented.
You have a perfect understanding of the Dutch and English language.
You are willing to travel occasionally.
