IT Support Specialist

Global IT Shared Services Team

Based in Kortrijk, Belgium


• As part of a global team you will deliver world class 2nd line support to employees and business units around the globe, including the users in the local Belgian offices. • You will be part of a virtual team providing remote and on-site customer support and troubleshooting, resolving, escalating, following-up and completing IT incidents and requests ('tickets') : e.g. general PC issues, server- and network issues, virus detection, system acces, application- and database issues, security incidents, mobile phone requests, problems with printers and other hardware peripherals etc. • For escalating IT tickets you will liaise and collaborate with appropriate IT Infrastructure, Application or Security teams while acting as an interface between the internal client and the dedicated technical team. • With the Kortrijk (Marke) office as your primary work location (70 users) you will travel min. once a month to the office in the north of Belgium (Meer) as well as travelling internationally approx. 4 times per year, visiting remote locations. • Periodically you will also be assigned project work, e.g. computer deployments, facility moves, system implementation support etc. • You will report directly to the IT Operations Manager EMEA & APAC.


• To qualify for this position you are an inquisitive, driven and versatile IT Professional, eager to learn and with a real passion for your job.
• You have experience in IT support or in a related position in a fast-paced international corporate and high-tech work environment. • Your field of expertise includes : a strong Windows 10/11 and Linux knowledge with experience in deploying and supporting client systems, strong knowledge MS Office and Microsoft Active Directory (incl. understanding of permissions structures), ideally good Mac/iOS and Android knowledge, understanding of VLAN, routing, switching, WiFi. • Your experience in IT hardware includes purchase, deployment and maintenance (e.g. Dell, PXE). • You are well versed in trouble-shooting printers and other peripherals.  • Skills in scripting automation, PowerShell and SQL Queries are helpful but not required. • You are a service minded, customer focused and well organised multi-tasker with a high level of autonomy and commitment. • You are fluent in English (verbal & written) with knowledge of other European languages as an advantage. • This position is based in Kortrijk (Belgium) with occasional travel and (limited) flexibility to work remotely from your home office.
