Regional Service Engineer Mid-Europe  - Marine Vessels

The Global Marine Services Division provides worldwide field service activities, commissioning and trouble-shooting on board of vessels. Our engineers work on components such as burners, control panels, circulation pumps, valves, expansion tanks, dump coolers, tank cleaning heaters, heat exchangers, electric heaters,  steam boilers and spares. Customers around the world rely on our extensive expertise in heat transfer and thermal fluid technology, that has been accumulating over more than three decades.


 
To reinforce the ARA hub (Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp) of the Global marine services division,  Alfa Laval is currently looking for a Regional Service Engineer mainly working in Mid-Europe.

Function

As a Regional Field Service Engineer, you work on international service jobs on board of our customers’ vessels, focussing on boiler systems. You will board the vessel in the Amsterdam, Rotterdam or Antwerp harbour and sail along or you will fly to a harbour somewhere in Europe to go on board. You will diagnose, solve and report about : changing components, mounting new burners and control systems upgrading equipment and controlling systems, re-commissioning, safety checks and combustion adjustments, giving advice and coaching customers/crew in product usage.
A service mission is followed by a detailed report with recommendations for possible optimization of the daily operations on our customers equipment.

Profile

• You have a degree in marine or electrical engineering or equivalent.
• You have marine experience, preferably with sailing experience.
• Lots of traveling and working outside normal working hours and days matches your personal life and is what you choose to do.
• You have the ability to communicate on all levels, are eager to learn, have a ‘can do’ attitude and are result driven.
• You have knowledge of English both in speaking and in writing.
• You are based in the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp region and you are in possession of a permanent working permit for Belgium or the Netherlands.
